Landing Pages: Convert Visitors into Customers

8 Tips & Tricks To Convert Visitors Into Customers

Whilst attracting people to your site is all well and good, if you are selling a product or service, also there are many tips and tricks you can use to convert visitors into customers and below we have outlined seven of our favourite.

In order to direct traffic to your website, there are a number of techniques you can use, including web marketing, SEO, PPC, and Adwords campaigns.

Landing Pages

Digital Marketing campaigns such as Google ads or Facebook ads with the intent to generate leads, point towards a landing page on your website. Landing pages have sales copy about your products or services you provide the main intent of converting your visitor via a call to action.

Lead Generation forms

It is a good idea to include a contact form above the fold – particularly on the landing pages you have created to optimise your PPC and Adwords campaigns.

Make sure the form is simple to fill in and does not have too many fields. Provide information on how long it should take you to get back to customers so they have clear expectations.

Even if customers looked up your online store, they still may feel more comfortable placing an order over the phone, so they can talk to a real person. Make sure you include a callback request form so you give customers the option to do this.

By using a callback request form, you can gather information about the customer so you are better prepared to answer their query and sell to them when you call them.

Live Chat

Offering your website visitors the ability to live chat gives you the chance to answer their pre-sales enquiries before they leave your website or abandon a purchase from your e-commerce store.

Customers are often more receptive to live chat without having to commit to an email or phone call. They can gain simple information such as product features but this also allows you to continue the conversation highlighting the benefits of your services and products or encouraging them to sign up to a free trial of your software.

Call-to-action buttons

Call to action buttons are designed to tell customers what you want them to do e.g. ‘Buy Now,’ ‘Add to cart,’ ‘Sign up.’ It is important to feature call to action buttons in optimal positions of your website in order to stand the best chance to convert visitors to customers.

Be careful not to clutter up your page with too many call-to-action buttons though as this can confuse users.

Free Trials

A great way to increase your chances of converting users to customers is to offer something for free. This works particularly well if you are providing a service, as you could draw users in with a free trial.

To make sure your free trial is effective, be sure to deploy the first email to users immediately. By doing this you can prevent them from forgetting to use their free trial of your service. You should also include a step-by-step guide to make it as easy as possible for them to activate their free trial.

Personalise all correspondence and include a clear call to actions in your emails. Remember your aim is to get them to sign up for your service after their trial has expired.

Email List

One of the great things about getting people to sign up to your newsletter is that it confirms they are happy for you to market your products or services to them.

The more willing they are to receive your marketing materials, the more likely they are to explore your recommendations and buy your products. When creating a newsletter sign up form for your website, do not make it too long or complicated.

If it takes too long for users to fill in or asks for too much information, they will simply abandon it.

Online quote generator

Online quote generators work particularly well for increasing the conversion rates of companies operating in the realm of insurance and finance.

This is due to the fact that users are likely to be comparing different providers. If you cannot offer them a quote upfront, they will simply cross you off their list and move on.

In order to stand a good chance at converting users to customers, provide them with a simple form to fill in. Only ask relevant questions and make sure that your form looks visually appealing.

The easier it is for users to obtain the information they require, the more likely they are to convert visitors into customers.
